Today's blogpost will be about Baarpasta; a lovely pasta restaurant (obviously) in the middle of Antwerp city. I visited it on a Wednesday together with my friend to have one last girls night before me leaving to Italy for 3 months.
The restaurant was very empty to our surprise, but I guess this was the case because it was a weekday and most people living in the city centre are students who don't go out for dinner that much. The interior of the restaurant was simple but very nice and cosy and the waiter was friendly as well. We started with some apetizers, my friend ordered a Whiskey Sour (ā¬11) and I ordered a Mojito (ā¬9,50), both were really fresh and delicious.
For dinner my friend ordered the Pasta Pomodoro with vegetables (ā¬15) and I ordered the Vegetarian Lasagne (ā¬17,5). Both meals were very delicious and I was also happy to see that they had a pretty decent vegetarian offer too. I'm a bit of a picky eater and my stomach and intestines are also not my biggest friend, so for me there were only 2 options left on the menu, which were the lasagne or a pasta with pesto (ā¬17,50), which I already had the day before. I was not mad at all to take the lasagne as I love me some good lasagne and the meal also didn't dissapoint.
Both portions were pretty big so we were not able to finish them, by just 3 or 4 bites, which I didn't mind, as I prefer having too much than too little. I really liked my visit to Baarpasta and I will definitely visit them again some time.
A bientƓt!

PS: Something I personally did not like was to see some sauces containing cream on the menu. For me, real Italian food is made without cream. Whenever you go to Italy you will barely see any cream sauces on the menu or don't see it at all. So, whenever I go to an Italian restaurant that has cream sauces on the menu a small Italian person, inside of me, just starts acting up. To be fair, there were only around 2 or 3 dishes on the menu with cream in it so it is not a big deal, but I just wanted to mention it as it is still my own opinion that I am writing down.
