Matterhorn is a well-known restaurant/bar in Antwerp where people come and go during the entire day to grab some lunch, drink a coffee, eat some finger food and catch up with friends and family. Matterhorn has 2 establishments in Antwerp; one in the city centre in the Huidevetterstraat, very close to the well-known Frites Atelier by Sergio Herman, and one in the Volksstraat at "'t Zuid".

I have never been to the establishment at 't Zuid, but I regularly visit the one in the centre as it is only a few meters away from my apartment and it is close to a few of my favourite shops. Matterhorn is very popular, according to me, because it is one of the few terraces in Antwerp where you can sit yourself down for a minute to take a break from all the shopping. I never had lunch at the Matterhorn before, so I decided to try it out, together with my mom.

On the website their menu did not look as promissing to me because it didn't include a lot of vegetarian dishes, but once I looked at the physical menu at the restaurant the number of options increased. I went for the Eggplant Lasagne (€16) and my mom ordered the Spaghetti Courgetti with bolognaise sauce (€16).

We both enjoyed our meals and I was very glad that I had a delicious vegetarian lunch, with even more options to try out another time. Matterhorn is a place that has something to offer for everyone, if you're not a big lunch person you can go for a casual soup, for the healthy people among us, they have a special section in their menu (Healthy Corner) with several healthy options. As I mentioned before, you can also order some finger food during most parts of the day or order an Italian or Swiss tapas "menu" for 2 (€39) people or 4 (€58).

A bientƓt!
