In this post you'll read about several restaurants, that I would recommend to friends and family, that are situated outside of Belgium. These restaurants are places that I visited in the past, before I created this food-blog. This means that I don't have any pictures or less information as usual, about these restaurants. The restaurants that I will mention are situated in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Flachau and Maastricht.

Michiu, Amsterdam

Michiu is a sushi restaurant situated just outside the centre of Amsterdam. A friend recommended this place to me, and I am very glad she did, because I ate THE best sushi I've ever eaten before at this place. The waiters were also very friendly and told us a lot of stories about celebrities that visited the restaurant already. I recommend this place to every sushi-lover out there, because it truly is the best place to get sushi.

Venus & Adonis, Amsterdam

This restaurant is situated at the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam and has a really cosy feeling to it. I went for Lunch at Venus & Adonis 2 years ago, together with my boyfriend. The interior of the restaurant is very nice but also the terras outside is cosy and very quiet as well. I ate the special Adonis burger but I cannot recall what my boyfriend ordered. I really enjoyed our visit here and always recommend this place to acquaintances that visit Amsterdam. The prices of the lunch-menu are, in my opinion, really fair. For dinner, the prices are a little bit higher, so if you're on a low-buget I'd recommend going for lunch instead of dinner.

Cosy, Amsterdam

Cosy is a little place, also situated outside of the centre of Amsterdam, in a neighbourhood called "De Pijp". You can easily get here by foot or take the tram, depending on your location. Cosy is a coffee and pie bar where you can get amazing breakfast or anything sweet. I went here with friends and family and we were all equally as excited about our food. Some of us ordered some yoghurt with fruit (€6,75), and I ordered a sandwich with some copa di parma (€7,25). I enjoyed the sandwich so much that I even ordered a second one. The staff was super friendly and the prices are very good too. I will definitely go back when in Amsterdam, and I really recommend this place to everyone who will visit Amsterdam in the future.

Van Dam, Amsterdam

Van Dam is a "brasserie" as we call it here in Belgium and The Netherlands, where you can get simple and easy food that mostly is signature food for that certain country. I first ordered some pasta with tomatoes, burrata and basil (€16,50). The pasta was very nice but also very light and because I was hungry, this wasn't enough for me, so I ordered a "broodje kroket" as well. A "broodje kroket" is a dish that is very popular in The Netherlands, it is a plain piece of bread with a meat croquette in it/ on top of it. I enjoyed both meals and so did my company. At Van Dam you can also eat other dishes besides the typical Dutch ones, such as PokĆ© bowls (€14,50), aƧai bowls (€9,50), some sandwiches (around €8), club sandwiches (€12) etc.

2254, Barcelona

2254 is a really good tapas place, situated in the centre of Barcelona. The place is called 2254 because the owner of the place traveled 2254 kilometers from Palermo to Barcelona. The tapas at this place, are not the typical fried ones that you can find anywhere you go. They are all very special and not like anything you've tried before, ofcourse it's also possible to get original tapas such as patatas bravas and calamari. The location is very nice and quiet as there is not a lot of traffic that passes by, plus the staff is amazingly friendly as well. I can really recommend this place to everyone going to Barcelona in the future, as me and my family really enjoyed our evening here.

Lisa Alm, Flachau

The Lisa Alm in Flachau is situated in the middle of the ski slope (in the winter) or the middle of the mountain (during summer). The Lisa Alm is a place that serves amazing food and also takes care of the entertainment. They always have a DJ during the ski season so it is the perfect place to end your day and enjoy some apres-ski. The place is very big, but also popular so if you're planning on eating here, I would recommend booking a table in high-season.

Il bacaro, Maastricht

Il bacaro is a tapas place situated at the "vrijthof" in Maastricht, a popular square in Maastricht that has a lot of restaurants placed next to each other. You can find Il Bacaro all the way at the end of the many restaurants, on a corner. I've been here a few times now and have had some mixed experiences. I can conclude that I enjoy eating on the terras more, rather than inside. This is because the acoustics inside are pretty bad so the talking of the customers echoes around the whole place, this makes it harder to understand each other when in a conversation. The food is really nice and my favourite meal is the pasta aglio olio (€9,80), it is recommended to take several dishes and then share it with your company just like every tapas place works. Every dish is equally as good, in my opinion, the only dish that I really recommend you not to take is the "Funghi al Forno", I ordered this dish twice and both times were equally as bad. Everything else that I've eaten there before, is very delicious, so I would really recommend this place to everyone.

A bientƓt!

Bisous
