Trentanove is a restaurant situated at Quartier Blue in Hasselt, which is managed by the same person as Crudo. Crudo was an Italian restaurant also situated in Hasselt (check out my blogpost) which now turned into Trentanove and moved to another spot in the city center.

They kept their menu more or less the same as they did in Crudo. They have several pastas and risottos and also serve meat and fish dishes. Their menu contains a couple vegan and vegetarian dishes too, to make sure every person has something to eat. A very big plus!

I went together with my niece and sister to check it out for the first time. To start of our night, we ordered a mix of bruschettas (€16); one with tomatoes and basil, one with ricotta, cucumber and pine nuts, one with pesto and Bresola ham and one with a tartare of tuna. I only tried the 2 vegetarian ones which both tasted good. The one with the pesto wasn't to my niece’s liking as she didn't like the structure and taste of the pesto. The one with tuna did taste good and both my niece and sister enjoyed it. One thing that bothered me a bit about the bruschettas was the fact that on the menu the vegetarian logo was placed behind it, which made it seem like all bruschettas were going to be vegetarian. Though, when it came to our table it was immediately noticeable that one had ham on it, which is obviously not vegetarian. If I didn't have asked what was on all of them, I wouldn't even have known that one also had fish on it (Tuna tartare), which is something all vegetarians don't like to experience.

Moving on to our main dish. My niece ordered a tartare of tuna with sesame and soya dressing (€19), my sister went for a carpaccio of tuna with marinated fennel and orange (€18) and I ordered a ravioli filled with Mozzarella di Bufala with garlic, olive oil, cherry tomatoes and basil (€21). We all enjoyed our meals very much. The flavours were delicious and the dishes were also light which left room for dessert as well.

We shared 2 orders of Limoncello panna cotta. I personally expected the panna cotta to have a fresher taste, than it did, because of the limoncello. Though, I had the impression that the panna cotta actually was a vanilla panna cotta and that the tiny swirls on it were limoncello flavoured. Besides this, I did enjoy the dessert and so did my sister and niece.

Our night at Trentanove was very successful and we all mentioned that we wanted to go back again soon because of the delicious food we were served. I would really recommend trying it out especially for people who like Italian food as much as I do.

A bientƓt!
