Babbelut is a typical Belgian Bistro situated on the "Vrijdagmarkt" in Ghent. My friends and I were looking for a place to have lunch in Ghent, but somehow most of the restaurants were closed in the area we were in. So we bumped into Babbelut, which looked cosy and was offering the exact meals we were looking for on their menu, something small but good.

As we were going for dinner too that night, we all wanted to eat something small to leave some space for an extensive dinner. Two of us (including me) ordered the soup of the day, which was courgette with paprika, with some bread on the side(€6). The others ordered; a mix of cheese and shrimp croquetted with some fries(€18), shrimp croquettes with bread (€15) and a whole grain pasta with vegetables and Tofu (€13).

All meals were perfectly fine and enough to fill our stomachs with. I was really happy to see such an extensive offer of vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, as you don't see this very often. In total they had 7 vegetarian meals on their menu whereof 3 were vegan. The rest of Babbelut's menu consists of; snacks, starters, meat-and fish meals and a kids menu.

I liked this bistro very much as it was cosy, quiet, relaxed and the waiter was super friendly too, which for me is always a big plus. So whenever you're looking for a typical Belgian meal in Ghent, Babbelut is definitely a good place to go to.

A bientƓt!
