While getting to know the city of Leuven I constantly try to look for good lunch and dinner spots. One that was brought to my attention is called Bar Leuv. A very cosy and (kind of) instagrammable lunch spot very close to the "Oude Markt" in the center of Leuven. I went to check it out together with my sister on a beautiful Friday afternoon.

At Bar Leuv you can eat salads, sandwiches, bowls, waffles or small bites such as brownies and nachos. When you choose something from the category "Great Hunger" you can choose to get your order on either a sandwich or a waffle. The latter sounds a bit strange to me as most toppings are more savory and waffles are very sweet. My dare-devil attitude wasn't big enough that day to try out the waffle but I will try it next time (I promise).
I went for a veggie sandwich with avocado cream, tomatoes, olives, crispy onions and hummus (ā¬10). My sister ordered the summer salad with Italian ham, strawberries, mozzarella, walnuts, cucumber and balsamic (ā¬13).
Both dishes were presented beautifully, though I do prefer to eat my sandwiches with my bare hands instead of with a knife and fork (which, for sure, wasn't an option with this dish). Besides this, the sandwich did taste delicious. A good amount of all ingredients and just enough to fill my stomach. I loved the combination of the soft taste of hummus and avocado with the harsher taste black olives and freshness of the cucumbers.
The salad too, was really good. I did found it very strange to see strawberries on a salad, even though I had already seen it before, but according to my sister it did taste really good.

I will definitely go back to Bar Leuv in the future as I loved the vibe of the restaurant and the staff was also really friendly. And ofcourse the food was good too.
A bientƓt!
