Leuven is relatively new to me, so finding a good spot to eat at is always a challenge. I try to discover as many new spots as I can, as I always love to get to know a city through its culinary spots.
This time I went for lunch at Lettuce, a salad bar in the heart of Leuven. As much as I love to eat pasta or other unhealthy stuff, I can also enjoy myself with a delicious salad and Lettuce offers just that. Besides salads, they also have some wraps, quiche, soup, sandwiches and some hot dishes such as lasagne, cannelloni, pita, etc.
I ordered myself the Italian salad which had some parma, zucchini, eggplant, cherry tomatoes, olives, etc. in it. topped off with a balsamic cream (ā¬16). I normally am not such a big fan of balsamic but this cream was really nice and it also wasn't too dominant. The salad was really good, I loved that there were more vegetables in it than the usual salad, tomatoes and cucumber.

But as a real healthy person does after eating a salad, I ordered some dessert too. I saw the people next to me eating this brownie and I just looked too good to not order it as well. So I ordered the brownie with salted caramel (ā¬5) and my friend ordered a cheesecake with red fruit and speculooscrumble (ā¬7). These too, were really great and the perfect way to finish of a great lunch.

I think Lettuce is the perfect place to go for a not-so-ordinary salad together with a friend (or lover) and watch all the people passing by (it is located on a busy street in Leuven) while catching up on all the gossips. The prices are a bit high, so it's not a place to pass by every day, but the salad was definitely worth it.
A bientƓt!
